This does not apply to the 1971-73 Buick Riviera. It is 1/4" too large in diameter and does not have the punched slot to allow it to slide over the stud welded onto the rocker panel. The MC99 style fits earlier models and attaches with a sheet meal screw.
I've found that a better fastener to use for the 71-73 Riv and other full-size model rocker moldings. It's plastic so it'll never rust like the original steel version. Best of all, they're original GM available through your local dealer.
